This is a beautiful Masai Giraffe, sometimes spelled Maasai. These giraffes are officially the Giraffa tippelskirchi and they can be recognized by their jagged blotches and the ossicones on top of their head. These giraffes are the world's tallest animals and are designed to eat from high up places most other animals can't get to.
That's a beautiful giraffe close up. This is a Masai giraffe, officially the Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi. They're recognized by a few distinct features including their color patterns and the two ossicones on top of their head. They originated in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The Malayan Tiger is an endangered species officially classifed as Panthera tigris jacksoni. They include the Siberian and Bengal variants of tiger, and can weigh over 650lbs. They originated in the tropical forests of Malaysia but have been heavily hunted. This one in captivity is living a lavish but contained life and eats deer, boar, and other mid-weight mammals. On this afternoon, he looked as if he had just finished a large steak and was sprawled out with his tongue hanging out.
This leopard is resting in an alert state in its habitat. Its species is the Panthera pardus which is a member of the panther family. These that are not melanistic like black panthers have distinct fur patterns which are camouflage in their natural habitats in Africa and parts of Asia. They love to climb and despite averaging just 140lbs, they've been known to eat large mammals including humans. This one is kept in a complete secure enclosure.
This beauty is the Acinonyx jubatus, better known as the Cheetah. It's the top fastest animal there is in the world. Cheetahs can run at speeds up to 65mph. They like to eat antelope, gazelle, impala, and birds among other things. They're most easily recognized by their black spots and vertical black lines beneath their eyes. On this hot day, this Cheetah was more interested in taking a bath in the shade.
This is Honey, a domesticated Tabby feline. Fun fact: this cat was immortalized as a power up in a video game called Lucas the Game. She had the classic M-shaped fur pattern on her forehead. Tabby cats are descendants of the African Wildcat, which were first domesticated over 9,000 years ago in the Middle East. They had taller ears and longer legs then.
This is a coiled Royal Python, better known as the Ball Python. They can grow to six feet in length and are non-venemous. This reptile is a constrictor that eats quail, chicks and mice. His colors are classic but amazing.
