This Malayan Tiger or Panthera Tigris Jacksoni Is A Very Endangered Species
This Malayan Tiger or Panthera tigris jacksoni is an extremely endangered species.
There are only about 150 of these tigers still alive out in the wild.
They come in two variants, being the Siberian and Bengal.
Malayan Tigers can weigh up to 650 lbs.
That massive body size and hunters are the main reasons they're going extinct.
It's tough to stay alive when you need that much to eat,
and their source of food is not what it used to be.
Then hunters wanted their fur and trophies which are unfortunately valuable in some places.
They're from the tropical forests in Malaysia and are known for their unique beauty.
They've been made more famous by many movies and art pieces.
This lucky tiger lives a lavish and safe life in captivity, where hunters can't get to it for fur or a trophy.
When I photographed this tiger, it had just finished a nice steak.
