Williams Tower on Post Oak Blvd
This extremely tall skyscraper is Willams Tower at Post Oak Blvd in the Galleria part of Houston. It's 909-feet tall and used to be called the Transco tower. It's the tallest building in uptown Houston, and its construction was completed in 1983. I timed this photo for this day and time of day to get the best lighting for mood. I composed it to feel extremely invincible. That and other choices I made brought out a powerful feeling and amazing mood.
Williams Tower on Post Oak is 64 stories high and averages 14-feet per level in height. It's not the tallest building in Houston though, because the JPMorgan Chase Tower is 1,002 feet tall. It is however the tallest building in an uptown area known as the Galleria. By the way, you can see the JP Morgan Chase building in some of my Houston skyline photos and compare its height to others around it. I included low buildings on all sides to add to the juxtaposition, and chose to use late evening lighting here to capture more of the mood I wanted. I had to wait around for a while because I got there early. That and other choices like overall composition and style led a great feeling.
