Gargoyle at Bishop's Palace in Galveston

Old gargoyle statue at Bishops Palace in Galveston

This very old gargoyle is in front of the historic Bishop's Palace in Galveston, Texas. The way the mansion, landscaping, and statues come together is amazing to look at. I love being there. If you ever want to visit, it's near Broadway and 14th Street on the East side of Galveston island.

This ornate mansion was built in 1892 and is also known as Gresham's Castle. It's over 19,000 square-feet. The Galveston Archdiocese used it as their headquarters from the 1920s to 1960s. Today, it's a historic house museum where they give tours.
