Charlie the Houston Zoo Zebra Has Died at 33
This is Charlie an old female Zebra at the Houston Zoo. Charlie lived at the zoo in Houston, Texas since the early 1980s. She has died related to old age related issues at the age of 33. In her later years, Charlie was placed into the giraffe habitat, where she hung out near the back cafe. She was like an old friend you would see trotting around. She had a beautiful pattern of black and white stripes. Every Zebra has their own unique pattern. She would march around and hang out with the giraffes all day well taken care of. They seemed quite happy with their zebra buddy who has been described by many people as feisty.
