MODDB AND INDIEDB FOUNDER SCOTT "INTENSE" REISMANIS INTERVIEW WITH TIMOTHY COURTNEY

This Game Talk interview is with Scott Reismanis, who is better known by players as INtense. He grew up running around and kiteboarding on the beautiful beaches of Melbourne. Reismanis is very resilient and sticks with his goals to make it happen. He tried many things like Gamerzoned, which morphed into Gaminzone, Chaosrealm, Modrealm, and more. He eventually created hit platforms like IndieDB and ModDB, a popular game modding site, which is full of game modding enthusiasts running on passion as fuel. Scott shares the story behind the progression, and I even managed to extract his daily routine. You will definitely be interested in this exclusive interview. In our talk, Scott was very open about the challenges of building a community from scratch. He's very strategic and you'll want to catch his insights in this brilliant talk.

ARTIST FOR GAMES LIKE HOTLINE MIAMI AND ELSE HEART.BREAK(), NIKLAS AKERBLAD INTERVIEW WITH TIMOTHY COURTNEY

In this Game Talk interview, artist Niklas Akerblad goes in-depth with me about art, philosophy, and life in Gothenburg, Sweden. Many people have seen Niklas' vivid paintings, which include the covers for the Hotline Miami game series. Niklas is very creative and didn't always have other creatives around him. He later studied art more formally, but decided he didn't like those formatted rules, and has since forged a unique style from his own personal taste. We talk about the elements of his art, some of which include the human element, macabre, Japanese culture, bold colors, and more. His style is also influenced by some of his favorite legendary artists which he detailed in my exclusive interview. It was an amazing talk and you'll enjoy it.

GAME ARTIST AND CO-DESIGNER OF NOT A HERO, JAKE HOLLANDS INTERVIEW WITH TIMOTHY COURTNEY

Jake Hollands grew up in the beautiful countryside of Liphook England. He spent a lot of time alone, drawing nonstop, especially dragons. In this Game Talk interview, Jake breaks down his clean, bright, and minimalist approach to video game art. Hollands is the lead art designer for Not a Hero, a hit Xbox game, that's really fun to play. He talks about the importance of following along with great designers, as one of the best ways to become great. He also goes in-depth technically, on subjects like ISO-Slant, character lovability, and more. Though he draws in pixel art, he doesn't usually think it's the best idea, and shares his philosophy in this rare interview. Jake is also passionate about UX/front-end design, and we talked about that too.

GAME TALK INTERVIEW WITH THE DEVELOPER OF CELESTE AND SKYTORN, NOEL BERRY

I got to know game developer Noel Berry for Game Talk, a series of interviews I produced with the world's best video game creators, which includes artists, game designers, musicians, and more. Noel has helped create many games like Skytorn, Celeste, Chaos Heart, and Outpost. He grew up in Winnipeg, and managed to pick up game develpment early. He stayed with it through homeschooling, mostly because he loved the math of coding, and got into participating in game jams. Game jams are a fun way to learn and make yourself develop a quick game, and compete against others. He has an interesting take on talent which you'll want to read about. He's optimistic about the future of VR, and we talked about many other interesting subjects too.

CREATOR OF I WISH I WERE THE MOON AND TODAY I DIE, DANIEL BENMERGUI INTERVIEW WITH TIMOTHY COURTNEY

Daniel Benmergui can really talk about video games, so he was perfect for my Game Talk series. Daniel is a game developer who has created indie hits like I Wish I Were the Moon and Today I Die. We went way back into his journey, which started in central Argentina. You will not want to miss this exclusive interview. Benmergui is extremely insightful and thoughtful, and his knowledge of game design is something you don't wanna miss. He also helped to make games like Jonathan Blow's The Witness that much better as a game tester. Knowledgable game testers are essential to making sure a game is good, to say the least. It's not easy to summarize this Game Talk interview, because we talked about so much but if you like game development, this one is a gem.
